Let's go over this step by step.

Step 1

Why Do You Want A Website?

Everyone wants a website today, but not a lot of people understand why they need one.

The first step is to figure out what you want people to do when they see your website.

Buy a Product (eCommerce)

Inquire / Register for a Product / Service / Event (Lead Generation)

Showcase Profile / Company / Work / Creative (Informative / Portfolio)

Visit Regularly for Updates (Blogs)

Step 2

Website Content

Content is the trickiest but crucial. Good content is important for SEO and for website conversions. If you need help with content, feel free to ask.

More importantly, prepare your website layout in your mind. Figure out how many pages you want – Home, About/Profile, Services/Products, Events/Projects, Clients, Testimonials, Gallery, Contact etc. are some of the pages you might need.

Once you’ve got your layout in mind. Answer these questions to move ahead to step 3.

Do you plan to update your website content?

How often do you plan to update your content?

What kind of content do you plan to update?

Which pages do you plan to update?

Step 3

What Type of Website Do You Need?

Based on your responses in Step 2, I can recommend the type of website you need. But have a quick read below.

Easy to make

Quick to load

Complete customization possible

Website is static in nature, which means you will need a developer to make changes

Best for bloggers

Can be customized to make any category of website

Backend admin panel to make text changes

Layout changes will still require a developer

Step 4

What About The Website Design?

I’m glad you asked. I typically go about this in one of two ways:

Custom Design

Get mockups before we code

You get exactly what you want

100% customization

Time consuming

Not required in most cases

Quick & efficient to build

Cost effective

90% customizable to get what you want

Almost all categories of websites can be covered

Cannot provide mockups in advance

Certain elements cannot be customized

How do you decide what you want? Let’s do that when we speak.

Okay, so how much is all of this going to cost me?

Step 5

Budgets & Costing

It’s the question I receive most often, what will it cost, what should be my budget etc. There are many factors on which I would price the website.

Once you have completed step 1, 2, 3 & 4, we can discuss step 5 :)

In addition to my charges, you will have to incur the expenses of a domain and web hosting, which is payable every year directly to the company we purchase it from. Don’t worry, I’ll explain this in detail when we speak.
